The Great Convergence

Everything converged at the right time and place.

A perfectly executed plan:

Genetic lines, chosen and shepherded for generations, watched over and protected, led and prepared, produced the chosen couple, in a simple village, at the perfect time. This was the central or prime convergence.

Empires and emperors, conquerors and conquered were monitored, predictions made, conditions forecast. Wars and peace were all taken into account. Necessities for rapid military deployment known in advance. The development of the technology needed to produce such roads was mapped, needed manpower calculated. Societal systems and mindsets were in place to gather the manpower and materials necessary and to deploy them throughout those empires. All these pieces came together as foreseen in the exact time of the prime convergence. This was the second convergence.

The millennia long movement of celestial bodies was launched. A certain Star moved monolithically into place so that its light would shine at the exact time needed in the perfect sector of the sky in such a way that it could not be mistaken for anything ‘ordinary.’ The third convergence.

Cultural and religious expectations were nurtured, shaped as a Potter shapes His clay, preparing the way. Systems, organizations, groups of like-minded coalesced into bodies that would move predictably at the necessary moment. The fourth convergence.

Ambition, jealousy, greed, and great insecurity roiled together in a corner if the Empire prepared for this time, this great convergence, resulting in the placement of particular leaders. The fifth convergence.

Growing fears or ambitions, possibly both, influenced a leader, Emperor of the day, now in place as needed, to issue a decree. The decree effected an empire but nowhere so significantly as a small unknown town in an unimportant and unpopular corner of the vast empire. The decree moved the central couple to the small town planned generations ago to be the focal point of this great convergence that would change all of existence. The sixth convergence.

Far from the unknown town, men gazed at the prepared sky, saw the Star, and followed it. The seventh convergence.

Centuries (and far more) in the planning, nurtured and watched over, all the pieces came together at the perfect time, in the perfect place in order to fulfill an ages old promise of rebirth and hope. This was the Great Convergence.

Few knew, even though the predictions had been shared. Fewer recognized the momentous moment. Only the Planner Himself, overseer of all the pieces, meticulous executor of the details, knew this was the moment.

Perhaps He could not contain Himself. Perhaps it was His joy that overflowed at the conclusion of the Plan that heralded the beginning of another facet of His plan to make all things new. Or maybe it was part of the plan all along. Whatever the reason, messengers were sent to announce the Great Convergence and its portent of hope. And insignificant outliers, societal nonentities, rushed to see the promise fulfilled, and to rejoice and wonder.

The couple, the prime convergence, received these viewers with their own wonder and shared the Gift given, unaware of all the pieces that converged here, at this moment – and would unfold for the next 33 years.

This timeline of the great convergence altered reality for ever.

Gratitude and awe, wonder and joy, perfection and promise … All flow out now in a great divergence to colour and shape every facet of creation.

A perfect plan, perfectly executed.

I love the various colours of life. They bring such vibrancy and joy. I have found that God is the Source of all the colours that make life worth living.
