If each life is a tapestry
There is a thread
– A colour
– A shape
– A sound or smell
– A taste
– Maybe an action
That runs through the whole piece.
Sometimes it is visible
… front and centre.
Other times it is hidden
… winding behind other shapes or threads.
Sometimes it is forgotten
… tangled in among all the other things.
Or maybe it is purposely excluded
… relegated to a dark region
Where it cannot be seen.
But He made each tapestry
And continues to weave the pattern determined long before.
He knows why that
Thread, colour, shape, sound, smell, taste or action
Was chosen
To be a continuous feature
In that particular tapestry.
When the piece that runs through all
Is seen
noticed
used
enjoyed
It pulls the whole together
Into a beautiful unity
Exploding with joy.
What is your thread or piece?
Music? Creativity? Story? Sensory input?
Nature? Food? Structure?
Laughter? Peace? Welcome?
Discernment? Wisdom? Passion?
What has been present at every phase
Part of who you have been through each age?
Sometimes hidden, neglected, or overlooked?
Sometimes enjoyed or celebrated?
Maybe it’s time for it to
come forth
to pull your tapestry together.
I am finding my colourful thread
And joy is overflowing.
One Response
Love it! I always think of life as a tapestry and that those in our lives each play a part in the weaving of the story that is our lives.
Thanks for this. 🙂
